We have been having this chat about face milling internally after listing to a few podcasts… They all can create quite a different feel and can have a different outcome on how you start the ball rolling.
what’s your favorite face set up?
Is it insert? Deep milled for lower smash factor and softer feeling? Or smooth and firm feeling off the face? Or Maybe you’re a modernist and you want the horizontal v-grooves that gets that ball toppling end over end quicker.
Let us know! Maybe it’ll give us ideas on what we should make for our next batch of Workbench putters!

A hand crafted GSS DD201 with a unique set up going out this week!
This one was fitted unique in shop. It has a couple extra degrees of loft milled into the face as the player had a forward press to start the putting stroke. We also went with a mid-long neck as he would kind of switch between straight though and slight arc in the putt stroke. The last interesting thing was the player going from a mid mill down to a smooth face to get a higher smash factor and more feedback through the hands at impact to know when it was a good strike or poor.

Custom Mid-Long Neck Maven on the way out the door today!
This one has a minimalistic look. It was first sand blasted and then has gone through the marine satin process and lastly torched just a little past blue to give it the ice cold silver look!

The last drop for this week is Custom Carbon Steel Flow Neck DD201 with all the hand stamped goods! Boxing glove on the heel bumper, Aus on the toe bumper and a lizard surrounded by lightning bolts in the cavity!
This carbon steel DD201 with fine milling feels sensational off the face. We know who ever ends up with this will love putting with it for hours on the practice green!
